Green Energy
This green loan is part of the REPowerEU Plan, which aims to boost funding for green energy and support the autonomy and competitiveness of the European Union. “The European industry is transitioning to a circular and climate-neutral economy. This project is a shining example of that, as it enhances the energy efficiency of the factory, contributing to the EU Green Deal and aligning with the goals of BEI” says Ricardo Mourinho Félix, Vice President of BEI. “The EU Climate Bank is leading the way for economic growth while ending dependence on fossil fuel imports through increased energy efficiency and the intensification of production from renewable energies”, adds the Vice President. REPowerEU aims to end the dependence on fossil fuel imports through increased energy efficiency, the intensification of production from renewable energies, and the decarbonization of industry. BEI total contribution of €45 billion to REPowerEU is expected to mobilize over €150 billion in investment by 2027 to support green technologies and the energy independence of Europe.
